Henrietta, Director of Disability Services, has almost 20 years of experience representing clients needing Social Security Disability benefits. Henrietta grew up in New York; she came to Georgia in 2006 with her husband and two children; she joined First Step in 2015. Her passion and dedication to helping individuals that need it the most does not falter and clients know they can rely on her team to provide competent and compassionate representation. Henrietta is an Eligible for Direct Pay Non-Attorney (EDPNA), VA-accredited Claims Agent, and is SOAR certified; she continues to learn and stay updated with all things Social Security. Henrietta is a member of the National Association of Disability Representatives (NADR) and the National Organization of Social Security Representatives (NOSSCR). When asked why she enjoys working at First Step she will tell you strictly for the clients “There is nothing more satisfying than being the voice of defense for someone that is unable to speak up for themselves. The greatest fulfillment is helping someone get back on their feet; not to only help them gain financial stability, but obtain health insurance to improve their overall livelihood.”

Deirdre is native Georgian, and a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School where she participated in school extra- curricular activities such as Band, Dance and she was the Co-Captain of the Majorette’s.  She has a diverse range of interests and experiences. Deirdre graduated from Atlanta Area Technical College – Master Cosmetologists, Office Automation Certificate, Fulton County Notary, and SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, Recovery (SOAR) Certification which allows her to help individuals experiencing or at risk for homelessness who have mental illness and /or a co-occurring substance use disorder or other medical impairments.  She is a compassionate and dedicated professional case manager with more than five years of experience working with individuals struggling with mental health.  Deirdre is committed to providing top-quality attention and personalized services to each person on her caseload.  She also provides a caring and supportive listening ear to our clients and their families.

David has been with the Disability Services Department since 2018.  In his free time, he loves doing a host of volunteer work to help individuals in homeless situations.  His passion has always been to help people in need get back on their feet and he has been a strong advocate for the less fortunate in his community.  In his own words, he says "every chance I get to help someone in need makes my life more meaningful".

Angela is a native Georgian, growing up in the City of Scottdale and a graduate of Druid Hills High School where she was involved in sports and various school activities. Angela continued her education at Gwinnett College where she attained an Associate of Science degree in Paralegal Studies. Angela has gained vast experience in Social Security Disability and Personal Injury Law, working at various Law Firms in downtown Atlanta over the past 13 years. She is a member of National Association of Disability Representative and soon to be SOAR certified. She loves volunteering and has worked with several non-profit organizations. Her loving and caring heart keeps her motivated to continue the work she does in helping people obtain their benefits and social security income.
